I like to travel. I like, I like to travel.
So it’s true. And it has to be done. I am quitting my very lucrative job as a New York corporate litigation lawyer and am wasting a chunk of a year traveling around Thailand, Vietnam, Spain, and the U.S. Like the beatniks, hippies, and trustifarians before me, I am going to find myself. I just hope when I do find myself, I will have lost my law firm weight.
I will first be heading to Asia to do the tourist circuit. Be prepared for pictureless, intermitent blog entries, as I don’t know when I will be able to find internet cafes, especially ones that have picture uploading capabilities.
With any luck, I will have more blogging time in Sevilla, where I will be taking a Spanish class and will likely have no friends. Nothing like being alone in a foreign city to get the creative writing juices flowing.
Then join me as I visit friends and family all over the country. Watch as I come back to NYC and search for a new job. Cry along with me as I watch my savings dwindle down while going on fruitless interview after fruitless interview.
Ah, but that is a worry for later. For now, I hope this entertains the kids while I am gone. Otherwise, check out iamyourmom.com to see if it can survive without me.
